Serendipity vs Vicissitude

I've been so busy

chewing on the distance

that all this air 

between us

has set my teeth on edge.

And you...

You're taken out of

some postmodern fairy tale

and I have yet to figure out

if you're the good guy

or the bad guy.

Perhaps both –

for sure.

If Chuck Palahniuk would ever

write a fairy tale

you'd be the hero,

the antagonist

and the dragon
and
I'd be the reader that falls
for all of your characters.

If there is one thing 

that I'd want you to know

is that

you got me (inspired)

and that's a hell of a lot

to have.
